About Me

Mr. Christian Boakye Yiadom, affectionately known as Chris B, is a visionary entrepreneur whose journey from a small campus venture to leading one of Ghana’s largest Quick Service Restaurant chains is a powerful narrative of resilience, strategic growth, and unwavering conviction.

Chris B’s entrepreneurial spirit found its foundation while he was a student pursuing Actuarial Science at KNUST. In 2018, together with co-founder Ebenezer Essuman-Amankwah, he began his foray into the food business.

The earliest days were the most defining. The company started operating from a small rented apartment in Kotei-Kumasi. The initial setup was rudimentary. To save costs, they famously used a study table as a makeshift kitchen counter and folded A4 paper sheets into their first pizza boxes, a practical solution that speaks volumes about their resourceful nature. The initial success came from selling pizza by the slice, allowing students to afford the product and securing early cash flow.

The business began to scale rapidly in Kumasi. The defining moment of Chris B's commitment came during the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic. He had secured admission for finance and investment post-graduate studies in Germany, a conventional and prestigious path. However, faced with the prospect of leaving his nascent company, he made the audacious decision to abandon his post-graduate studies abroad and return to Ghana. He recognized that the dream he was building needed his hands-on leadership to survive and thrive, a decision that accelerated the company's growth into a major player.

Under his leadership, Pizzaman-Chickenman evolved from a Kumasi favourite to a national brand. Mr Boakye oversaw the strategic expansion, moving from the initial two branches to establishing a comprehensive operational backbone. This included setting up the centralized warehousing and logistics crucial for managing supply chain efficiency across multiple cities.

A core part of his strategy was prioritizing technological innovation. The company's operations are now underpinned by proprietary technology developed in-house, including the CHRIS B mobile app and the ANDAS ERP system, which manages everything from sales to inventory. This commitment to data and systems, evident in his own BSc in Actuarial Science from KNUST, ensures the company remains lean, modern, and data-driven.

Today, CEQA Foods and Beverages is a major employer, with over 1,500 employees and a vast network of 89 outlets (restaurants and mobile kitchens) as of September 2025.

Christian Boakye Yiadom believes deeply in empowering young adults. His leadership style is characterized by trust in internal talent; his executive team comprises individuals he mentored who rose from entry-level positions like Packaging Assistant and IT Technician.

As a former Teaching Assistant at KNUST, he continues to actively coach, fund, and inspire the next generation of Ghanaian entrepreneurs. His legacy is not just the food empire he built, but the powerful example he sets, that with dedication and smart strategy, African youth can build institutions that reshape industries.

Christian Boakye Yiadom has continuously enriched his practical experience with academic specialization, including diplomas in Food and Beverage Management (Bocconi University), Data Analysis (University of Colorado), and an MSc in Sustainability and Leadership at the University of Cumbria.
