Students at Ashesi University recently had the opportunity to engage with Christian Boakye Yiadom, CEO of Pizzaman Chickenman, during an insightful guest lecture focused on entrepreneurship, brand building, and the realities of scaling a Ghanaian business.

Speaking on the theme “Building a Ghanaian Brand: From a Slice to a Nationwide Name,” Chris shared the journey behind the growth of Pizzaman Chickenman, from selling pizza by the slice with limited resources to building one of Ghana’s fastest-growing food brands.

During the session, students gained firsthand insight into the strategies that helped shape the brand, including localisation, affordability, convenience, youth culture marketing, and nationwide expansion. Chris also spoke candidly about the operational challenges that come with growth, emphasizing the importance of consistency, systems, and customer experience.

Beyond business lessons, the lecture became an inspiring moment for many students as Chris encouraged young entrepreneurs to start with the market they understand, remain resilient through failure, and focus on building systems that can scale sustainably.

One of the key messages shared throughout the session was that building a strong Ghanaian brand is possible with vision, persistence, and innovation.

The event also created an exciting networking opportunity, allowing students to interact directly with the CEO, ask questions, and learn more about the realities of entrepreneurship in Ghana’s competitive business environment.

Pizzaman Chickenman remains committed to empowering the next generation by sharing knowledge, experiences, and practical lessons that inspire young people to build boldly.
